Beginners
Are you interested in gaining confidence, improving your fitness, losing weight, motivating yourself? Or do you just want to enjoy something new? If so then Tae Kwon Do could be for you.
It really could not be simpler, Cheltenham Tae Kwon Do offers a FREE introductory lesson to anyone interested in trying it out. All you have to do is turn up at Bourneside School, Cheltenham, at 6:45pm Monday or Thursday wearing comfortable clothing that you can move about in easily, e.g tracksuit, t-shirt, shorts or sports trousers. You really have nothing to lose, if you don't want to continue then at least you can say you tried.
You may have some questions or concerns about doing a martial art and hopefully these will be answered below. If not then please email Paresh Bhadeshia at info@chelt-tkd.co.uk

Isn't it a bit dangerous? All that kicking and punching?
Tae Kwon Do is semi-contact which means padded sparring equipment is used to cover hands, feet and head when applicable; it isn't full contact like boxing. You may be surprised to know that injuries at the club are extreamily rare and when they do happen they are generally no worse than you would recieve jogging or on a football pitch.
Am I too old?
As long as you have a reasonable level of fitness then age is largely irrelevant. We would rather you came to the club to try first before deciding you are past it. Current club students age from 6 to over 50!
Are my children too young to join?
Many parents are worried about their children doing a martial art and quite rightly so. As with all learning, Tae Kwon Do does require a level of concentration and self discipline. If your child is keen to start Tae Kwon Do then we would we urge you to bring them along to see how they get on with training. We have found Tae Kwon Do can help tremendously with a childs concentration and self discipline. If it doesn't work out then there is no harm in putting it off for another year.
I'd love to do it, but I have a bad back, arm, leg, head etc?
Some of our existing students have injuries which have not stopped them progressing through the belts. You will be expected to excercise during training, but you will never be asked to do something that might aggravate an existing injury.
Why should I join your club and not somebody elses?
Cheltenham Tae Kwon Do is a family oriented club where everyone regards each other as a friend (even though we do fight each other occasionally!). We are sure that you will find the club welcoming and find it an enjoyable and rewarding place to practise a martial art.
We look forward to seeing you!
